Padraic O’Brien Fundamentals of Oral Communication Eric Eberhardt 5/1/08 Audience Page I am very interested to see the reaction from the audience and even more excited at the chance to hear their opinions on my topic. Academic freedom in the science classroom is a very important issue to me, and I strongly believe alternative theories should be offered/allowed. I am interested to hear how well I presented this speech, and I really hope that the importance of the topic increases my enthusiasm in front of the class. I assume that with the fact that all of the audience are well educated individuals, that they will have a great deal of knowledge on the topic of evolution and the big bang. However, I am not sure of their understanding of the tolerance of alternative theories in the American classroom, and I hope that I may persuade them as knowledgeable students to believe that this, scientific diversity per se, should be incorporated into the public school curricula.
