Activity 1 According to the case study, the organization is in crisis. Dean Adams role should be that of a leader. As a leader he needs to make the decision whether to promote an internal managerial candidate, or go outside of the company for “new blood” so to speak. Dean indicates that Julie may be a good internal candidate, because she has proven her leadership skills by developing a strong team of loyal employees, held herself to high ethical standards, and created a culture of integrity. However, Julie is known to be sensitive to her employees, often times not holding them accountable for their shortfalls. With the status of the company as it is, Julie may not be the right person for the job, as she may not be able to make the difficult decisions, when they arise. Dean should recruit a manager from outside of the organization to fill this position. However, Julie could fill the position in the interim, until an outside replacement is found.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
