NTR 306 - FUNDAMENTALS OF NUTRITION Learning Objectives About these objectives These objectives are written as a guide for learning. If you can perform each of the objectives as a result of class attendance, reading, and studying, you have mastered the content and are prepared for exams. Information for some objectives may not be covered in lecture but is found in the textbook. After reading the text, ask about concepts that are not clear to you. You are responsible for all objectives whether they were addressed in lecture or not. These are also to be considered study guides as preparation for exams. Objectives are subject to modification by the instructor during the semester. All modifications will be announced on the UT Blackboard. INTRODUCTION , Chapter 1 1. Define nutrition, food, nutrients, organic, calorie, malnutrition, energy, RD, risk factor, chronic and placebo. 2. Recall the six major classes of essential nutrients and their general functions.
