Mr. B: John Booth came from an immigrant family, was a wealthy actor who was very close to his mother. She pleaded and prayed for him not to enlist which he did not, he instead sat on the sidelines and watched as the division between the Union and Confederates grow. Booth was a supporter of the Confederacy believing that slaves were not individuals, only property. “Booth believed that Lincoln was determined to overthrow the constitution and destroy his beloved South” (Hamner, 2014, para. 2). Booth enlisted the help of several people in effort to be successful in kidnapping Lincoln at the Ford’s theater which was unsuccessful. He tried to kidnap him a second time but President Lincoln’s itinerary changed. When Booth went to the White House and heard Lincoln’s speech on reconstructing the nation, this infuriated him, that’s when he plotted assassinating Lincoln. Lincoln was attending a play when he assassinated Lincoln with one bullet. Booth was later killed with a bullet to the neck. The following people
