To: John Smith, editor of Current Issues From:, assistant editor of Current Issues Date: September 25, 2008 Subject: Publishing article “Renewing America’s contract with the middle class” The article “Renewing America’s contract with the middle class” outlines the fact that the success of the nation lies only on the prosperity of the workers. The harder they worked the more they were rewarded with benefits and advanced opportunities making the country have a thriving business. The article further states that however the America that existed 25 years back doesn’t exist anymore because there have been many changes in the way the Corporate America operates which is not helping the nation to improve its overall economy. The article further makes comparisons with other countries and their ways of operations. The issue highlighted in the article is that the Americans now only look at the short term benefits, corporate profits and shareholder returns rather than the greater good which is the overall development of the nation as a whole. The article further has stated some solutions to the problems that the nation is presently facing which may help improving the situation considerably. In my opinion, the article has definitely addressed some of the major issues of the global American Corporation but however it has failed to give some solutions for the same. The article states to get "back to the future," where success for American corporations again means success for American workers, and where corporations are again managed with concurrent and equal responsibility to shareholders, workers and the public.” The article only has stated a solution which is very obvious but
