Currently, labor unions strive to increases wages; raise the standard of living for the working class, ensure safe working conditions, and increases benefits for both the workers and their families. Although laws have been implemented that may cover some of the areas. Labor unions are still needed today just as much as ever. Most corporations today are focused on making a profit and growing the company at the expense of the employees. Employers are trying to rid responsibility of benefits and making jobs less secure through many practices. The employees need a collective voice now more than ever and labor unions can provide them with that to prevent these negative changes from occurring in the workplace.
