Phone Calls By Devon Siegel Back in high school Laura was the good girl and Brian was the rebel. She was the straight-A, ivy league-bound, varsity athlete and he was, in a word, not. They were polar opposites but he always had a thing for her. He finally mustered the courage to talk to her and something clicked. They both felt it and they knew they had a good thing. Few would’ve ever guessed they’d even date, and no one would’ve put any money on them lasting this long. But four years later, four years full of ups and downs, they’re still going strong. Like any couple Laura and Brian fought often, generally about petty, stupid things. They’ve had their share of epic fights but they’re few and far between and they’ve made it through. Laura’s phone rings, she see’s that it’s Brian calling and she prepares herself for a petty argument she knows is on its way. “Hey babe,” she begins, trying to skirt around the inevitable spat. She knew there was a fight in their near future because she had been very busy lately with school, sports, grad school
