Dr. DeltonBUS326.04Carter Racing Case:One of the problems I noticed in this case was the lack of communication between the engine mechanic, Paul Edwards, and the chief mechanic, Tom Burns. The mechanics both had their own reason of whether to race or not, but refused to communicate and listen to each other. The chief mechanic shouldn’t have relied on his “gut feeling” and insisting on the two times it was 75 degrees and there was still an engine failure. Each of their data sets were bias to their own opinion. Neither of the graphs showed the entire picture with all the race situations. The engine mechanic was unable to fully extend his argument with statistics.
