3. In all likelihood no one historical theory can adequately explain the cause of the Civil War. In a short well-written essay discuss the different theories offered by both historians and contemporaries to explain the Civil War. Since there has been no clear defined reasons for the start of America’s most deadly war. There have been many theories from historians and contemporaries to explain the Civil War. Slaveholders in the south not only have money but slaves would also mean more political power. Northerns will soon grow weary of the increasing numbers of slaves in the south. it is said that the slave owners were determined to spread its influence to other parts of the country, trying to convert the united states into masters and slaves. Not only will this be a violation of man’s god given rights and their liberties. Many would also say the civil war was a war about state rights versus Nationalism. The south will come to secede from the union because it was a state right given to them. It was also a revolutionary right to secede but also session was purely constitutional.
