One trait in particular is his sardonic, dry wit- at times it is even self-deprecating. Sedaris maintains this dry theme to his humor throughout the composition, which provides the reader with a sense of reliable wisdom, be it harsh. As a trustworthy source, Sedaris maintains the reader’s allegiance, and furthermore keeps ones interest by infusing the narrative with small, periodic updates from his day-to-day life.
