On a Monday night once a month, my four best girl friends and I always get dressed up and go out to eat at a nice restaurant. This month we choose to go to Ruth Chris down on the plaza. All of the girls wore a nice dress and heels. I choose to wear my new dress which was semi-formal. It was black with sequins all over. The proper shoe to wear would have been my black heels; however, I choose to wear my running tennis shoes. Let’s just say the reactions I received were not so positive. All of us met at a house in Riss Lake so we could all drive down together. As soon as I got out of my car, one of my friends complimented my dress, but once she got a look at the whole ensemble, she began to give me a strange look. Now I’ve been known to complain about wearing heels so my friends usually understand when I wear a flat shoe, but tennis shoes were not going to fly.
