The film Blockade was about the Spanish Civil War and how a simple farmer named Marco is driven out from his own land by troops of invading soldiers then makes a speech declaring the need for freedom, and soon Marco's fellow peasants are following him as their leader. The movie begins with a man playing a flute to herd his sheep. He is than accompanied by what seems like his friend who is Marco. The man playing the flute is named Luis who is drunk most of the movie. Marco is talking about farming his own land and being successful. What happened next was almost too predictable. First Marco is talking about the land and how wonderful it is, then next think you know they hear gunshots and their precious land is being invaded. As they are all fleeing the area, Marco all of a sudden turns around and gives a speech to his fellow peasants and they magically all listen to him and he becomes their leader. Marco is now going to fight an army as the leader of a bunch of peasants. At first the movie is predictable, and then as characters become introduced it became more difficult to follow.
