These daughters have too long dominated the earth” (Voltaire).Although astrologywouldn’t exist without the idea of astronomy, the two are different.However, even though manypeople feel as though the two are extremely different, they have a very important similarity. As-tronomy is the study of the universe. Whereas, astrology is the study of the planets’ positions,motions, and properties and how they affect the people and events on Earth.The two ideas do not have equal social acceptance. While the acceptance of astrologyvaries in different cultures, astronomy is accepted in every country as a science. Astronomy istaught; whereas astrology is practiced. Everyone knows about astronomy, the galaxy we are in,and how many planets there are. Astrology on the other hand, is based on opinions and beliefs.
