Ilevbare 1Victor IlevbareAp inquiry project 15 May, 2017Annotated Bibliography Chua , K. B., W. J. Bellini, P. A. Rota, and B. H. Harcourt. "Nipah virus: A recently emergent deadly paramyxovirus ." (26 May, 2000): n. pag. Web. 20 Apr. 2017.This journal gives an offshoot of the Nipah virus, how it started and has been a major problem of the ecosystem. It also explains the type of family it came from, its relationship with the Hendra virus. It is a fatal disease as different host speciesincluding humans are liable to the infection. There isn’t treatment for this disease just supportive care, both diseases are gotten from wildlife. Starts from the fruit bats who infect the fruits in the environment, humans and animals get the fruit eats it and the transmission begins. This research shows man’s knowledge at bay as this emerging Infection may be the end of many. This project was strengthened by this source because it shows man’s battle with nature has it’s flaws as the entire population is at risk of this infection. Not a problem in the American community but both diseases are very deadly as death is a likely resultafter contacting it. Crichton, Michael. The Andromeda strain. New York: Vintage , 2017. Print.
Ilevbare 2The book in which this entire project revolves around. A fictional story which has a great deal of biology in it. It starts with man’s quest into outer space but later comes along to bring a deadly extraterrestrial life which is a likely end of mankind. Michael Crichton took it as an opportunity to write about a book dealingwith an organism from above the atmosphere. It Shows man as the causative agent towards our failures in controlling the outbreaks of diseases. The entire book is just like the human body as all the events in it shows the progression of an infection affecting each and every part of the human body. The book outlines the struggles the world goes through each time there is an outbreak. Man tends to have the pride in tackling diseases as we all think we are intelligent but can wefight what we don’t know about, that’s when the flaw comes into play. The book isthe foundation on which biological points are being pull out, including chemistry, ittalks about blood ph and all sorts of biological weapons to combat the spread of disease. It is a chronicle of man’s heroism and intelligence. The book shows “what you don’t know is likely to kill you”.Dodet, Betty, and Marissa Vicari. Emergence and control of zoonotic ortho- and paramyxovirus diseases: symposium proceedings, 13-15 December 2000:. Montrouge: John Libbey Eurotext, 2001. Print.
