Andrew Ficklin FDINT215 6/12/17 Taiwan and Tibet 1. What would you consider the three most important facts about Taiwan? List them in order of importance and explain why they are important . The three most important facts about Taiwan that I would say be first would be the form of government. The Republic of China governs Taiwan and it is a parliamentary democracy. Taiwan is the largest island under the authority of China and has the highest population. They have become a very successful economy and are a capitalist democracy that works well even though they are still a part of the Republic of China. The second important fact would be the fact that the population of Taiwan is around23.5 million people most of them would be Han Chinese. And the last fact would be that Taiwan’s constitution guarantees freedom of religion and that most of the people have a religion and faith, most of which are Buddhist and with some practicing Confucianism or Taoism. 2. Why is the political relationship between the PRC and Taiwan of interest to the United States today?
