The purpose of an abstract in a scientific article in general is to summarize the body, tell the reader about the thesis, hypothesis, and explain the main focus. 2. The abstract conveys multiple point of information, the focus of the paper, the methods used in the reading, the results, and a conclusion that states the abstract. 3. The basic experimental methods used by the authors in this paper were; predicting what the effects will be of the elevated [CO2] and Tsoil on the photosynthetic responses of the Acer spicatum seedlings to the light, understand it and examining it. 4. The most important result from this experiment, were the elevated carbon concentration [CO2] success to increase the photosynthetic responses to light and in the other side the elevated Tsoil failed to increase the photosynthetic responses to light. 5. It being normal or abnormal has to do with the reading itself. Some reading may require for citing while others may not. Usually they are not cited.
