2Capstone Project > Organizational Logic & Pre-Formatted Microsoft Word DocumentIntroduction: Interdisciplinary & MeInterdisciplinary includes more than one branch of knowledge whereinthe scope of interdisciplinary is a wide range. At first, I am confused what doesinterdisciplinary really means and how it affect a certain problem in ourenvironment and our society. However, now I’ve learned what reallyinterdisciplinary is and how it involves both the academic disciplines and aspecific field of study. As what Meeth (1978) stated, for me, interdisciplinarystudies are intended to solve problems by focusing on more than oneconcentration and possible solutions. My chosen wicked problem is “TheViolence against Women” because I think this issue is very alarming and it isconsidered as a critical problem throughout the world. As of now, according to theWorld Health Organization (2016), the two main violence that women areexperiencing are the Intimate Partner Violence and Sexual Violence againstwomen. Scope of the Wicked ProblemThere are 35% of women worldwide who have experienced whetherphysical or sexual abuse, World Health Organization (2016). Violence againstwomen is not only a social issue, it is also considered as a major health publicproblem, economic, and environmental problem throughout the world. Apart fromthat, according to DeKeseredy (2017), violence against women consists ofphysical assaults, separation/divorce sexual assault, and rape. Yearly, the rate ofwomen being victimized by sexual and physical abused are increasing rapidly.Based on the report by the “World Health Organization Multi-country study onwomen’s health and domestic violence against women” (2005). 15% of women inJapan and 71% women in Ethiopia have been reported victims of sexual andphysical abused by their partner. Aside from that, 17% of women in Tanzaniawere reported experienced forced sexual abuse, 24% in Peru, and 30% inBangladesh. There is no doubt, the entire world is facing this very alarming issue.Road Map to What FollowsIn this paper, I will discuss and explain the causes of the violenceagainst women occurring nowadays. Readers will be able to know what thepossible solutions are and what are the possible preventions with this issue then,they will learn how to avoid experiencing abuse and violence with the otherpeople and how to help those women who are suffering from injustice regardingthis critical problem. Overall, this paper will open our mind about what the truthbehind this issue.Statement of Purpose & Research QuestionThe goal of my wicked problem is to inform young and adult women aswell the men throughout the world how serious violence against women is andhow severe the effects of it in the lives of a woman and in our society. Throughthe help of this paper, we can answer these several questions. What are thepossible consequences of violence for women and in our society? What can we
