Daniela Sorokko ILRST 212 HW # 3 Chapter 7 Circle Data, Trends The relationship between size and time is weak and not linear. It may have a slightly negative direction but it’s difficult to say because of the large scatter. Nothing conclusive can be said about the relationship between time and size. This scatter plot also shows a weak, non-linear relationship. The correlation between time and size is very close to zero.

The association between time and distance moved along the x axis is also undetectable. There is a weak association and it is not linear. The only difference between the association of time and dY and time and dX seems like the degree of scatter. The scatter plot of time and dY looks less spread out, but similarly weak, and non-linear. There does not seem to be a discernable difference between the time it took to click on a circle for horizontal or vertical distance. Temperatures

The coldest temperatures tend to be around the 100 th longitude and 45 th latitude. There seems to be a moderate positive linear association between the latitude and longitude for temperatures between 25 and 35. The warmer temperatures seem to lie on the higher longitudes and lower latitudes. In general, however, the scatter plot is weak and not linear. But a positive direction can be detected. Drugs The correlation between the percent of teens who have used marijuana and the percent who have used other drugs is 0.93 The association is linear, strong, and positive. The results do not confirm that marijuana is a “gateway drug” because the correlation
