Mary Jane vs. Al Cohol Alcohol abuse is not condoned by most individuals, but it is tolerated. Marijuana abuse, on the other hand is looked at as something harmful, or “just a phase.” I don’t understand why it is okay for someone to drink for the rest of his or her life, but smoking marijuana is looked at as some childish part of life, when we are just “experimenting.” Alcohol and marijuana are two drugs commonly used and abused in the United States. While alcohol remains legal, and marijuana illegal, this does not necessarily mean that the alcohol is the “lesser of the two evils”! In my opinion, out of the two, marijuana should definitely be legal. Alcohol does have its benefits. We use it to observe holy days, celebrate special dates and achievements, and even express pleasant wishes to our friends and loved ones. As a baby, a pediatrician put alcohol on my gums when I was teething. As I grew up, alcohol was the best remedy for a new nasty cut. Now, alcohol serves as the best ingredient in every mouthwash. The biochemical effects of alcohol are very similar to a tranquilizer.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
