It’s required to be very specific because of the limitations for pharmacy techs.We may be playing a major role in the lives of billions of people, but our responsibilities are narrowed. Due to the limitations, there’s only so much we can do. That’s where the regulations of Florida take place. Pharmacy practice is regulated by a series of rules, regulations, and laws that are enforced by local, state, and federal governments. Primarily the state not the of the federal government. Its basis is found in the power of the state to protect the health, safety, and welfare of citizens. Factors such as the number of Registered Pharmacists compared to Pharmacy technicians, what duties are allowed be performed, licensure requirements and so forth.According to the Florida board of Pharmacy, “a pharmacist shall not supervise more than one (1) registered pharmacy technician nor shall a pharmacy allow a supervision ratio of more than one (1) registered pharmacy technician to one (1) pharmacist (1:1) unless specifically authorized to do so pursuant to the provisions of this rule”.
