Joseph 1 Jerly Joseph Louis Eunice Enc. 1101 Critical & Analytical Response of David Zinczenko “ Don’t Blame the Eater When people aren’t making wise decisions on what to consume, especially in the time of their youth, the results can be life-threatening/negative. Editor-in-chief of Men’s Health Magazine; David Zinczenko in “don’t blame the eater “elaborates not only the effect fast food had on him but expresses the lack of information provided. He had once a “lanky five foot 10 frame then resulted in 212 pounds of torpid teenage tallow.” (pg. 463) He claimed that “there are no calorie information charts on fast food packaging, the way they are on grocery items. Advertisements don’t carry warning labels the way tobacco ads do and prepared food aren’t covered under food and drug administration labeling laws.” (pg. 463) Over all, stating there weren’t any other choice. However, people do have the power to change that. Zinczenko was not effective in convincing the audience that it wasn’t the consumers fault eating at fast food restaurants, and to yet suffer the consequences. I disagree because we all have the choice of free will, and can decide the fate of our future when it comes to a chance of lifetime obesity. So therefore, other options such as going to a super market and purchasing healthier items that could have lasted a little longer could have been a start. Picking up the habit of cooking, choosing healthier options at a fast food and exercising regularly. Although there may be some false information advertised about a product, the other alternatives that could’ve resulted in good out weighing the bad.
