Metal Removal Machines, Tools and Operations
The lab focused on metal removal machines specifically the lathe and mill
machines while also looking at the various operations these machines can do. Reviewed
in lab also included technical names of parts/machines and safety procedure when
attending the mechanical engineering technology laboratory. This lab was primarily
working hands-on with the lathe specifically but we also learned how to calculate speeds
and feeds.
The first order of business for the lab was learning how to calculate operations
involved with machining like turning, facing, boring, drilling, broaching and milling. The
