REVIEW FOR PRACTICAL 2 This will be an exam with stations set up around the lab. Some stations will be questions alone but most will have a “set-up” to observe. There will be 50 questions and each one will be worth 2 points. The questions will all be multiple choice or true/false and a bubble-in answer sheet will be used. Please bring a number two pencil. FROM THE FIRST HALF OF THE COURSE: SAFETY, MICROSCOPY, ASEPTIC TECHNIQUE, SMEAR PREPARATION, GRAM-STAIN, MOTILITY, COLONY MORPHOLOGY, DIFFERENTIAL AND SELECTIVE MEDIA, RESULTS of BIOCHEM REACTIONS. KNOW THE GRAM REACTIONS, SHAPES, and SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS OF: S. epidermidis (man-) and S. aureus (man+) Ps. aeruginosa (blue-green water-soluble pigment, aerobic) E. coli (lac+, facultative) B. licheniformis (spore-former!)
