Set up ModelSim environment. ModelSim is already installed on Unix machines in 218 IST building. You need to set up your environment for ModelSim following the steps below (In Unix, % refers to command prompt and you need to type in the commands after that): % cd ~/ % gedit .software An editor window 'gedit' will show up. Modify the file .software by removing the '#' before 'mentor' (the line following '#mentor: Mentor Graphics Design Tools'). Save this file and exit gedit. Now your environment is set up for ModelSim and you are ready to run ModelSim. You can also download and install ModelSim on your own PC from http://www.model.com/downloads/default.asp But keep in mind that it might consume hundreds of MegaBytes of your disk space and you need to register first before downloading it....
