Why ethical relativism  is unacceptable It seizes upon certain acts that we have passionate feelings about and makes their social differences appear as ethical rights and wrongs. It does not recognize that there is progress in human rights and denies that the perpetration of atrocities and genocide is morally wrong. The actions, if not the words, of ethical relativists, typically indicate they do not accept their own position.
