Each student participates in a group presentation on a topic related to nanotechnology. The groups will consist of 7 to 8 students, who will meet in 3 sessions outside of class to develop the presentation. Starting Nov. 19, there will be two presentations for each class period through the end of the semester. The content of the presentations will be tested on the final exam. More details on the presentations will be provided in class. The group meetings will begin the week after Fall Break. The projects will be in the areas of: 1) Nanocomposites 2) Sensors for detection 3) Nanoscale self-assembly 4) Nanoscale silicon electronics 5) Molecular (non-silicon) electronics 6) Light-emitting quantum dots 7) Nanomagnetics 8) Micro electromechanical systems (MEMS) 9) Nanoscale drug delivery 10) Nanoscale alloys 11) Nanoscale optics and photonics 12) Nanolithography 13) Nanostructures in photovoltaics (solar cells) 14) Nanostructures in fuel cells 15) Plasmonics Rank the projects 1 to 15, with 1 being your most preferred
