ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo EE 111 Electrical Engineering Freshman Seminar Prof. Art MacCarley “Introduction to Electrical Engineering” Office: 20-200 Fall 2007 Email: amaccarl@calpoly.edu Course Description This lecture course introduces new electrical engineering students at Cal Poly to all aspects of the Electrical Engineering Program at Cal Poly, and to the field of electrical Engineering. It give the students a chance to learn about career opportunities via distinguished industry and academic speakers. It also describes the many resources available at Cal Poly and elsewhere to help them be successful in their studies, and gives the students a chance to meet their classmates. Study skills, ethical standards, and the many non-classroom opportunities for learning at Cal Poly for will also be presented. Topics will include: Getting to know each other and Cal Poly Overview of the Cal Poly EE curriculum Significant historical achievements in Electrical Engineering
