INNOVATING FOR IMPACT: HCI APPROACHES THAT STRENGTHEN HUMAN RESOURCES FOR HEALTH HEALTH CARE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AUGUST 2012 The USAID Health Care Improvement Project (HCI) seeks to develop the capacity of host country health systems to apply modern quality improvement approaches to improve health care quality and outcomes. The human resources improvement work in Tanzania is supported by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), with funding from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. HCI is managed by University Research Co., LLC (URC) under the terms of Contract Number GHN-I-03-07-00003-00. URC’s partners on HCI include EnCompass LLC, Family Health International, Health Research Inc., Initiatives Inc., Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and John Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs. For more information on HCI, please contact [email protected] or visit . Background H ealth worker gaps have been demonstrated by the USAID Health Care Improvement Project (HCI) to be effectively addressed through the combined application of human performance technology and quality improvement (QI) methods. Through this approach in Niger, Tanzania, and Ethiopia, health workers have been shown to maximize their efficiency, work more effectively, and perform better—resulting in measurable gains in the quality of care . Similar approaches have been supported by HCI in Uganda over the last three months.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
