You are responsible for all material covered in lecture. For some topics this will mean reiterating the material as presented or knowing certain terminology. For other material this will mean that a concept is applied or that several concepts are needed to correctly determine a particular answer. Summary Topics Non-Covalent Interactions : Hydrogen Bonding, Electrostatic Bonding, Hydrophobic Effect - What these are, what molecules participate in these interactions, why they form etc… Buffers : How a buffer works, parts of a buffering system, common physiological buffers and how they work, disruption of the bicarbonate buffering system Amino Acids : Know the structures, 3 letter codes and 1 letter codes of all 20 amino acids.
