OPTION #1: AMERICAN ECONOMIC GROWTH FROM 1790-18602Option 1: American Economic Growth from 1790-1860As the 1800’s approached, the United States economy began to grow rapidly. This was due in part to major changes in industries such as communications, transportation, and agriculture. As new technologies and more efficient processes continued to emerge, this trend continued up to the impending American Civil War in the 1860’s. Looking back at this time period, a significant portion of it falls within the period classified as the Industrial Revolution, specifically because of this rapid economic boom. This paper will examine some of the changes that facilitated such significant economic growth in America, and discuss how these major advancement were possible in a span of less than a century.
