Vishal Aggarwal Psychology 1101 John Achee February 21, 2008 Social Behavior Individuals often behave differently when placed in different situations. The most common change seen in individuals’ behavior is when placed in different social situations. People often change the way they act when they are with people compared to when they are alone. They even change based on who they are with or where they are. I have seen people change when interacting with different people and have even realized that I occasionally change when with specific groups of people. Specific types of changes that people go through are social facilitation, social loafing, and deindividuation. Social facilitation says that in the presence of others, individuals’ performance is enhanced. Psychologists, such as Triplett and Zajonc, have conducted experiments dealing with this theory and have evidence that supports this. Examples of social facilitation can also be seen in everyday instances. I have realized that I am more productive when working out with a friend that when I am alone.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
