Incorporating Statistics, Graphs, and Illustrations The visuals I feel that fit most effectively into my paper is a graph and a timeline. The graph itself will show the average number of executions within a nine year time span. The timeline will illustrate major events that have taken place regarding capital punishment. I believe these will ultimately strengthen my argument by presenting real life numbers and facts to the reader. The following is a graph showing the number of executions within the last nine years. As shown the numbers of executions have fluctuated over the years. However, over the last five years the number of executions has dropped. 2
