Experiment #3: Resistors in Series and Parallel Connections (2) Purpose: The purpose of this experiment was to study the relationship between current and voltage, study the characteristics of resistors in series and parallel connections, and use the digital multimeter to measure resistance, DC voltage, and DC current.
Theory: Due to the fact that this experiment is a continuation of the previous one, the theory is the same. The equations used were V = IR and P = IV , I being the current measured in Amperes. Conclusion: After conducting the experiment, I could see that the voltage readings for a circuit connected in in parallel were the same which was the same as the source voltage. For a system connected in a series circuit the voltages were different, but the sum of the difference voltages was equal to the source voltage.
