CSM 102 INTERIM ASSIGNMENT #2 HOME CONSTRUCTION REVIEW Name: Sarthikumar Bhavsar Student ID: 300872740 Page | 1 After reviewing the video of Home Construction of Mc Naughton Homes several observations were drawn out from it. The construction practise in Canada is very different from the construction practise in my home country i.e. India. I would like to summarise the following observations: 1. The major stages involved in the construction of a Residential house are: a. Digging the Foundation b. Building of the Foundation c. Installation of Rebars in the forms d. Pouring of Concrete in the foundation e. Erection of the Basement Walls f. Pouring of the Concrete Slab g. Placing of the Windows h. Flooring for the Second Floor i. Walls for the Second Floor j. Placing of the Roof Trusses k. Roof of the Shingles l. Placing of the Windows m. Placing of the Vinyl Sidings n. HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical Works o. Placing of the Dry Walls p. Painting Work q. Floor Finish Works r. Final Detailing Works 2. There is a specific flow of activities as I have listed above. Excavation is to be done where there is construction of Basement. The foundation is around 4 feet below the frost level. Firstly, on site the lumbers are cut into pieces and joint according to the floor plan given by the architect.
