Group 6 ECE 342 Lab 1: Multiple feedback Bandpass Active filter Hicham Mziguir, Tariq Majeed September 24, 2008 Abstract: Design and test a Multiple Feedback Bandpass (MFBP) active filter. The goal of the lab was to design and build a MFBP with a center frequency of 11 kHz and a passband of 3khz The design provides one possible method of using a single OpAmp to implement the generic 2 nd order bandpass transfer function. Using a LF351 amplifier require a + 12 V and -12 V supplies, and reached a theoretical and measured gain of 28.6 dB. The real life circuit was successfully built and analyzed with results being less than 4% off the theoretical calculations. Described below is the selection of components, calculated values and the tested circuit’s procedure. Contents:

This report illustrates the design, analysis and test of a multiple feed bandpass active filter. A function generator was used as a voltage source along with a + 12 V power supply voltages; to design a bandpass filter with a center frequency of 11 kHz and a passband of 3 kHz. Detailed Lab1 requirements are summarized in lab 1 assignment sheet located in Appendix A. The Active filter was designed and built using an LF351 Op Amp, and the theoretical calculations along with the experimental results show that the filter has a gain of 28.6dB at a frequency of 11 kHz and a bandwidth of about 3 kHz. The lab report is broken down into 5 sections. Section 2 of this report describes in details the development of the Multiple Feedback Bandpass (MFBP), its component’s selection and calculation and the entire design put together. Section 3 describes the analysis of the theoretical circuit using Micro Cap ® and further verification of the design and sensitivity analysis using Matlab®. The real life construction of the circuit is
