Jin Bae HIEU 202 Word Count: 643 The Camp System The ideas of Social Darwinism and racial nationalism were key components of Adolf Hitler’s regime during the period of world war two. The ideological justifications that were used to support Nazism lead to the de-humanization of life or the camp system. Hitler claimed that the highest creation of a race was the nation itself, and that a great nation formulates through the collaboration of the great people. These nations developed cultures that naturally grew from races with natural good health, and aggressive, intelligent, courageous traits, which were described as the Aryans. According to Hitler, the weakest nations were those of a mixed breed with no strong national identity, mainly the Jewish people. These types of ideologies were connected strongly to the concepts of Social Darwinism. Social Darwinism argued that competition among all individuals, groups, nations or ideas lead to social evolution in human societies. The theory draws upon Charles Darwin's basis on natural selection,
