TV is now the most global medium – has replaced Radio. o Wide audiences regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, literacy, or income o TV as mode of choice to see what is happening around the world Huge audiences tune in around the globe for information and for cultural engagement TV facilitates the global circulation of performers, narratives, program formats o Sense of connection o TV is the same but different around the globe Pretty much the same formats everywhere Institutional Globalization TV as a National Medium o What in the TV studies book is considered o Most nations hopes for its power to bring the country together
