Course Description You MUST come to class and you MUST participate. 10% of your total points will depend on attendance and participation. I reserve the right to call each one of you to comment or answer questions. If you are shy, try to sit in front of the class. My ability to asses your interest in the class will affect positively your grade. Beginning week 2 we will have student presentations at the end of lecture on Mon., Wed. and Fri. For this assignment you MUST read the NYT Science section, the BBC science news and The Economist, choose a topic of interest to you and present it in groups of two to the whole class. Still beginning week 2, every Wed. you will turn in a short (1/2 to 1 page) written report of an article you found on the news (see above) which is relevant to the class or you find particularly interesting. You are excused from the writing assignment the week you present. There will be three tests. Mon. Jan 28th, Wed. Feb. 20th and Wed. March 12th (last day). NO single comprehensive exam.
