AIM: Give a first impression on how Physics will be approached in this course Question : Is Physics “Phun” or is it “Phear”? Phun Phear X Y Discuss why it might be “phear” for those who said so. Mathematics (calculus/trigonometry) It should be “phun” if you eventually want to be a scientist. It should be “phun” if you intend to succeed in this course. Not too much math, but does not mean the course will be easy. Need of hard work. Limitation of not using calculus: challenge to grasp concepts with words and simple algebra, and sense of wonder of what more can be learned when calculus is used.
