Discussion: For this week discussion, we are assigned to assess two variables from the data set General Social Survey. Both variables selected are measured at a nominal level. The independent variable name is race with a label of RACE OF RESPONDENT. The dependent variable name is wksexism with a label of R FEELS DISCRIMINATED BECAUSE OF GENDER. To analyze these variables a Chi-Square test of independence was made; this test was utilized to analyze if there is a relationship between the variables. The Research question: Would there be a correlation between the race of the respondents and if they feel discriminated by their gender? The null hypothesis is that there would not be any correlation between the race of the respondent and if they feel discriminated by their gender. Race is a nominal variable that contains three levels (1 = white; 2 = black; 3 = other ). Wksexism is a nominal variable that contains four levels ( 1 = yes; 2 = no; 8 don’t know; 9 = no answer ).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
