Discussion: For this week discussion three variables where assigned to be assessed. One dependent variable and two independent variables. These variables where measure in a scale level. The variables are from the data set General Social Survey. The method assigned for assessing these variables is a multiple regression. The dependent variable selected is conrinc with a label of RESPONDENT INCOME IN CONSTANT DOLLARS. The independent variables are hrs2 with the label of NUMBER OF HOURS USUALLY WORK A WEEK, and realinc with the label of FAMILY INCOME IN CONSTANT \$. The research question is: Would the hour's work in a week and the family income would have an effect of an increase or decrease in the respondent’s income? There are three null hypotheses which they are: The combined effect of hrs2 and realinc will not significantly predict conrinc. Hrs2 is not a significant predictor of conrinc, while controlling for realinc. Realinc is not a significant predictor of conrinc , while controlling for hrs2.
