GENDER INEQUALITY IN UK 2 Gender inequality for a long time has been a focal problem to a good number of societies. In this current world whenever a baby is born, people usually check on the sex of that baby. The society of the United Kingdom has got some inclination towards the two gender sex. It is true that a good number of people from the society of United Kingdom have perspective that a male child is more crucial and important to the society as compared to a female child. This implies that the idea of confirming sex of a born baby has always been a serious issue in the society of United Kingdom. It is evident that the roles of both women and men are usually assigned by the society. These roles are depicted to be favoritism and unequal. The roles are unequal since the women are assigned with roles that are lighter as compared to the roles assigned to men. This implies that the roles assigned by the society are usually female roles and male roles. In the United Kingdom, the roles given to women are considered to be lighter as compared to the roles given to men since the society takes women as species that are weak and also who cannot tackle hard tasks. The hard tasks are always referred as manly tasks. Through socialization, the community is able to educate women and men on their sex roles. This is particularly done when the two genders are young. Cultures that believe in the male gender always figure out the female gender as being lesser in the society (Haralambos et al. 2002, p. 161). It is true that even with the current century that is 21 st century, there is still gender inequality since the woman status has not yet been improved. The sex roles are imparted to the children through the concept of scripts that the children encounter as they grow up. The concept of roles of gender has greatly enhanced or rather facilitated the concept of inequality in gender. Women education in United Kingdom is termed as low. It is true that a good number of the societies in the world regard women education as low or rather underestimate them. This means that the community of United Kingdom prefers men’s

Education for a child girl has not been embraced fully as they value the education of boys a lot (Sobering, 2016, p. 133). Some other communities believe that the place of a girl is particularly in the kitchen. The role of a girl is to cook for the family. They also have that perspective that the girl child will eventually be married to other families and abandon her family hence educating them is wasting the resources. The community takes men as the provider of the family so they require education that is better as compared to that of women.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
