Appendix A: Using the MeasureNet pH Probe and Drop Counter to Record a Titration Curve 1. Assemble the MeasureNet workstation by putting the beaker on a magnetic stirrer, placing the pH probe in the beaker without touching the bottom, and positioning the buret on a ring stand so that each drop will fall through the drop counter. 2. Thoroughly wash a 50 mL buret with distilled water. 3. Make sure the buret valve is closed, and add 3-4 mL of 1.0 M HCl acid solution. Clean the buret by tilting it at an angle and swirling the HCl solution around the inside of the buret. Drain the HCl solution into a lab sink and flush the sink with water. 4. Making sure the buret valve is closed, fill the buret with 50 mL of HCl solution. 5. Setup the MeasureNet workstation to record a pH versus volume of HCl added scan: i. Press the On/Off button to turn on the MeasureNet workstation. ii. Press Main Menu, then F3 (pH vs. m volts), then F2 ( pH vs. volume). iii.
