Office Hours: Wed 1145am-1245pm/2-3pm (Bren 4010) & by appt. E.S. Department Phone : (805) 893-2968. Email (preferred): [email protected] ( Please title the subject line with “ES 1” and the section in which you are enrolled). Course Website: Section Requirements: You are expected to attend and actively participate in section every week. I will take attendance at every section. If you cannot attend, please contact me before section to discuss your absence. Grading: Your section grade is based on your attendance and participation and counts for 25% of your overall course grade (100 out of 400 points). You will be graded both for regularly participating at the weekly Discussion Sections (50 points) and for the quality of your participation (50 points). I have been instructed to CUBE the number of unexcused absences from discussion sections; this number will be subtracted from your TOTAL course grade. Thus, if you miss one section, you will lose 1% off your total grade. If you miss two, you will lose 8%, and if you miss three, you will lose 27%.
