Welfare in the U.S. Many people think welfare recipients are abusing the system or simply not trying hard enough. We often hear stories about welfare recipients with big screen televisions and other high end merchandise. The reality is that once on welfare it is difficult to get off; that is until your time is up and you are removed from the welfare rolls. Let’s take a look at someone earning around minimum wage (depending on the state) and their expenses.
