Your initial post is due by the end of the fourth day of the workshop. Good question, but the only answer is that first a woman must be elected vice president. From that platform, she will be halfway to getting elected. It will take a lot of change. The goal should not be to elect any woman but a competent woman. That being said neither gender, nor race, should be a determining factor for your qualifications.
