Assignment 3T. S. Eliot1. Discuss how this particular evening that Eliot describes could be like an anesthetized patient.I believe this description of the evening sets the tone of the poem and howthe night of Prufrock’s will possibly unfold. The author is trying to send the message that the night is going to be bleak and dreamlike. I think this description is describing is how there is not much activity going on in the city. This is like how a person under anesthesia is not moving while they are under. This description could also can give an insight to how Prufrock thinks about his life and how he views the world. He may feel like he cannot affect the world, like how a patient under anesthesia is cannot move or affect what a doctor is doing tothem. 2. How would you describe the part of town that Prufrock is walking through?
3. Why might Prufrock be intimidated by these women he describes?4. Discuss how the fog is like the house cat that Eliot describes.
