Nitrogen cycle Man’s impact Human population Changes man is instituting that is increasing global production of methane 1. there is accidental inadvertent loss of methane during extraction of natural  gas 2. man is growing more and more protein on the hoof (specifically cattle) and  cows, in fact, are a major source of methane.  3. Burning biomass… mostly CO2 but also a part of it is methane (especially  in the tropics) 4. Rice cultivation.
