Corporate social responsibility : theory of sustainability; pyramid of corporate social responsibility (economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic). 1. Ethics : moral principles or values (individual level) 2. Morals : foundation of ethical behaviors prescribed by society based on cultural values and norms (social/group level). 3. Ethical development : preconventional (egocentric, selfish, child-like), conventional (when in Rome do as Romans do), and postconventional (morality of a mature, ethical adult). 4. Ethical decision making : several factors affecting ethical decision making and judgment: Extent of ethical problems within organization; top management actions on ethics; potential magnitude of consequences; social consensus; probability of a harmful outcome; length of time between decision and outcome; number of people affected.
