Asiah Revell Mrs.Kohli English 102 24 February 2017 The Grief Between Two Parents Home Burial is poem by author, Robert Frost that was published in 19 14. The story is about a couple that has recently lost their beloved child and now is getting closer to losing their marriage. It begins with a mourning mother looking down at her lost child's gravestone. She is tormented and at this point only knows the feeling of grief. Her husband looks at her only wondering why she looks the way she does. He doesn’t at first know what it is she is looking upon, but the moment when he approaches, he soon realizes that she is peering at the sight of their deceased child buried underground never to be seen or nurtured again. The mother is going through so much and although her husband does try to comfort his wife during this moment he doesn’t much succeed. His wife becomes angry with her husband because he does not truly understand why she is upset. She tries to leave the home and her begs her to stay. Neither person understands the other and the way in which they grieve. The mother continues to grieving and does not necessarily stop until she gets to the mindset of having nothing to live for.
